The Lake District offers some of the most spectacular scenery. The Lakes of Windermere, Coniston and Grasmere is so blessed with natural beauty they inspired some of our best loved poets. Fells and valleys are dotted with idyllic little villages, high rolling moorland and plenty of lakes and so making the National Park is one of the most beautiful places in England!

DAY 1 – MONDAY
Pick up from our designated pick up point and travel to Belfast for the mid-morning ferry to Cairnryan in Scotland. Enjoy a scenic drive through the ‘Borders’ with a stop at Gretna Green, infamous for runaway marriages. Continue into England to Grange-over-Sands, our base for the next 4 days. Dinner in the hotel.
DAY 2 – TUESDAY
After breakfast we set off to discover the South Lakes of Windermere, Coniston and Grasmere, where William Wordsworth and other poets were inspired by the region’s natural beauty. There will be plenty of stops for photographs and to explore some of the lakeside towns and villages. Return to the hotel for dinner.
DAY 3 – WEDNESDAY
A day to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Edwardian resort of Grange-over-Sands, overlooking Morecambe Bay. It offers one of the mildest climates in Northern England. There are ornamental gardens and many vantage points for bird-watching. This afternoon make a short excursion to the nearby village of Cartmel, famed for its 12th century Priory and also as the home of the original sticky toffee pudding! Dinner in the hotel.
DAY 4 – THURSDAY
Today’s excursion takes in the North Lakes of Ullswater and Derwentwater. Catch a glimpse of England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, then there will be time to explore the market town of Keswick or maybe to take a boat trip on peaceful Derwentwater. Dinner in the hotel.
DAY 5 – FRIDAY
Leave the hotel after breakfast and return via Cairnryan to Belfast, then transfers to original pick up points.
